HOW TO FUNDRAISE

Do not wait for the perfect plan. Start a real conversation.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Most fundraising momentum begins with something straightforward: one person reaches out to another person, explains why the mission matters, and makes a clear invitation to help.

01 START CLOSE

Begin with people who already know you.

Personal outreach is usually stronger than posting and hoping someone notices. Think about friends, family, coworkers, clients, neighbors and people you already have a relationship with.

GOOD FIRST MOVE Make 5 direct asks.
02 EXPAND THE ASK

Look for leverage beyond one donation.

A business or workplace may be able to give, match employee gifts, share the campaign internally, sponsor an effort, provide space, or introduce the campaign to another valuable relationship.

THINK BEYOND “Will you donate?”
03 CREATE VISIBILITY

Share the story, not only the link.

Give people a reason to care before asking them to click. Share why you are involved, what you learned about BlinkNow, or why this campaign matters to you personally.

USE Approved campaign assets.
04 BUILD A MOMENT

Give people something to rally around.

A small fundraiser, workplace challenge, gathering, class, service offer, community event or creative idea can turn passive awareness into a reason for people to participate together.

ASK “What could I create?”
THE FUNDRAISING LOOP

One ask is not the whole process.

01 ASK

Make the invitation clear.

02 FOLLOW UP

Give people a second chance to respond.

03 THANK

Recognize the people who step in.

04 SHARE AGAIN

Let progress create more progress.

NEED A STARTING POINT?

Pick five people. Use one script. Make the asks. Momentum can start there.

TEAM SUPPORT

If you get stuck, bring it to the team.

Questions, ideas, introductions, resource requests and campaign opportunities do not need to sit in someone’s inbox. Bring them into the Team Hub so the right people can see them and help move them forward.

CENTRAL SUPPORT SPACE HCL 63 MEMBERS
TEAM HUB

Ask it once. Let the answer help everyone.

Use the Team Hub for campaign questions, collaboration, resources, introductions, updates and anything that would be useful for other HCL 63 members to see too.

OPEN TEAM HUB

If your question could help another team member, post it where the answer can stay visible.

BRING IT TO THE HUB WHEN... GET UNSTUCK
01
YOU NEED CLARITY

You are not sure what to use or what to say.

Ask before guessing, especially when the question involves approved materials, campaign information or how something should be represented.

02
YOU NEED A RESOURCE

The thing you need does not exist yet.

Request a graphic, script, answer, link or other campaign resource instead of quietly working around the gap.

03
YOU FOUND AN OPPORTUNITY

A door opened that may need more than one person.

Share introductions, event ideas, partnerships, business interest or larger opportunities so the team can help determine the strongest next move.

SIMPLE TEAM RULE

Ask early. Share the context. Keep the opportunity moving.
